The summer I was moving to New York, Helen of Troy was on tour and
I set up a show for them in Baton Rouge that was also my going away
party. The morning of the show, around 7:30 am I get a phonecall
from the band. They are in Orlando, over 10 hours away, and their
van has rebelled. The radiator blew and friend some computer in
the engine, but they had gotten the van to a mechanic and were having
a few beers while waiting for the place to open. It was 7:30 am.
They promised me they would make it to the show though.
Most bands would have given up on
the show, but the Troy showed up around 11:00 pm just in time to
play and deliver an amazing set that had everyone going nuts. I
couldn’t wait to be living in NYC and seeing more of these
guys, and I couldn’t be more stoked to do this cd.
This is a proper farewell from the
Troy, five final songs, some old, some new, all newly recorded and
ready to crush you.
