I believe I heard this band awhile back on a Level Plane release, and
I didn't think much of it. But this really caught my attention as it
had an urgent, spastic punk rock feel. While many may shelf this in
with the rest of the Level Plane crowd I'm more reminded of much of
the output of the now-defunct Makoto Records catalog from the late
90's, centered in the Michigan area. That probably means nothing to
anyone, but put aside older groups like Quixote, Gondolier, even a bit
of Thoughts Of Ionesco The Fiction are like a link to the past, if a
rather obscure one at that. For a little more relative description
think some of the AmRep noise rock style, paired with Gravity Records
style spazziness. All in all it makes a real good record. especially
the almost never ending freak out in closing track, "Ditko". Not too
shabby if I do say so.
