Compilation

"Times are hard for dreamers...". It sure is buddy. But i think
this compilation will get me through it. Beautiful packaging, good
bands and a booklet that's a very nice read indeed. And let's not
forget this a benefit for an after school art program in some Bronx
high school! I wonder what those kids would think of the noise made
by The Fiction. They start off very fingertrippy with the guitars,
and proceed in a more aggressive chopping way with distorted vox.
Cool song. Other highlights for me are The South (those boys can
swing!), A Petal Fallen, Scent of Human History & This Scares Me
(manic fast tunes). There are some other very good ones and some
ok, varying from screamo to metallish hardcore. The only personal
letdown was Countdown To Putsch, i've heard of this band before
and i don't think this (some spokenword over feedback/jam/freestyle
sounds) is a good introduction to them. Anyway, the overall musical
package is definitely satisfying. That and the idea behind it makes
this compilation very worthwhile as a whole. So I just have to recommend
this to people who enjoy sincere loud music! Right on.
